What it is

Rent-to-own is a rental, not new credit. The car stays ours until the last payment, which is why we can approve people the banks turned down.

Who qualifies

Take-home pay from R9,000 a month (or average turnover from R15,000 if self-employed). Old judgments, defaults and a low credit score don’t automatically disqualify you.

What it costs

From R1 795 a week, all-in, with a deposit from R13 500. No balloon payment.

How fast

A first answer in 60 seconds, without a credit-score hit. Keys in Durban in 2–5 working days after approval.

Why blacklisted doesn’t have to mean no

“Blacklisted” usually means there is an adverse listing on your credit record: a missed account, a judgment or a default. Banks score mostly on that record.

We look at your bank statements instead: how much comes in, what goes out, and whether the weekly amount leaves you enough to live on. If it does, we can say yes.

How to avoid the deals that hurt blacklisted buyers

People with a bad credit record are the main target of expensive deals. Watch for these:

  • A big balloon payment at the end that you can’t pay, so you lose the car
  • “No deposit” offers that hide a large start-up or admin fee
  • Insurance or tracker billed on top of the advertised amount
  • No courtesy car while yours is at the workshop, while the debit order keeps running

The YeboAuto deal

Eight promises the others won’t put in writing.

We read every complaint about rent-to-own in South Africa: surprise fees, balloon payments, cars stuck at the workshop while the debit order keeps running. Then we wrote the opposite into our deal.

Every rand, upfront

Weekly amount, deposit, term, the price to buy it at the end, and where every rand goes: the vehicle, insurance, service, licence and our margin. Your price card is locked in writing for 7 days.

No balloon: a small, fixed buy price

At the end you can buy the vehicle for a fixed price written into your agreement on day one: R5,000 for a car, R500 for a bike. No R40,000 surprise.

Buy it early if you want

Had a good season? Ask for an early buy-out quote and own it before the term ends. Most rent-to-own deals make you sit out the full contract.

Unlimited km for drivers & riders

Drivers do 1,200 km a week. We don’t cap the kilometres you earn with.

Off the road? Your week is on us

If a repair takes more than 24 hours, you get a loan vehicle or that week is free. Never pay for a car or bike you can’t earn with.

Bad-week pause

Can’t pay one week? WhatsApp us that day. Once a year you can move one payment to the end of your term, no penalty, no fight.

Road-legal from day one

PrDP and operating-licence help for e-hailing, the right insurance cover, and the papers in your hands for every roadblock.

A real person on WhatsApp

One named account manager, a reply the same day, a reminder before every debit and a statement every month.

FAQ

Straight answers

Can I get a car if I’m blacklisted in Durban?

Yes. YeboAuto approves rent-to-own cars in Durban on income and affordability. You need take-home pay from r9,000 a month (or average turnover from r15,000 if self-employed), 3 months of bank statements, your ID and licence.

Will you do a credit check?

Checking if you qualify on our site does not affect your credit score. Before we sign, we do an affordability check on your bank statements.

Can I clear my name by paying for the car?

Rent-to-own is a rental and is not reported like a loan, so it does not directly fix your credit record. It does give you a reliable car while you sort your record out.

Do I need a deposit?

Yes, a deposit from R13 500 for cars. Bikes start from R995. Deposits keep the weekly amount down.
